Facts
As recited in the ECtHR's 2010 decision in Erel and Damdelen v. Cyprus, the Government of Cyprus reported to the Committee of Ministers, in an appendix to Resolution CM/ResDH(2007)77 of 20 June 2007 concerning execution of the Aziz v. Cyprus judgment, that one Turkish Cypriot stood as a candidate MP and 270 Turkish Cypriots cast their vote in the 21 May 2006 parliamentary election, the first such election held after the entry into force of Law 2(I)/2006.
